Gold Medal Mindset

I’ve been following Alysa Liu since her inspired gold medal win at the Olympics and can I say that this young woman gets a gold medal in mindset! Take just a moment and imagine how your life would be different if you adopted these mentalities that I’ve heard from Alysa:

  • She actually LOVES pushing herself. She embraces struggle rather than shying away from difficulty.
  • She sees her skating as telling a story. If she wins, then that part of the story ends with a medal, if she loses, then that part of the story has a loss. Either is absolutely acceptable to her.
  • Alysa used to do what people told her to with her skating. Now she does things on her own terms. She INSISTS on enjoying herself.

I’ve taken Alysa’s story to heart and let it inspire my own mindset work — both personally and in helping others pivot away from self-defeating, limiting beliefs that keep them stuck.

And here’s what I know for certain: transformation like this doesn’t happen by accident.

It takes intentionality. It takes practice. But most of all, it takes a decision — a decision to stop letting old stories run your life.

If Alysa’s mindset resonates with you, if you’re ready to embrace the struggle, own your story, and start doing things on your own terms
